West Point Leadership and Character Seminar - Scholarships of $2,500$1,500, and $1,000 Awarded!

The West Point Leadership and Character Seminar (WPLCS), co-hosted by United States Military Academy cadets and Loyola University Maryland ROTC cadets, is a full-day leadership development experience designed for high school students in grades 8–11.

Participants will engage in interactive breakout sessions, hear from keynote speakers, and take part in meaningful discussions focused on leadership, character, and decision-making. Guided by cadets preparing to become Army officers through both West Point and ROTC, students will gain practical tools they can apply in school, athletics, and their communities.

The program highlights the Army’s dual pathways to officership while reinforcing timeless values of integrity, service, resilience, and teamwork.

Following the seminar, students and families are invited to attend an optional West Point information session. Students may also register separately to complete the Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA) HERE.

Please note: If a school has student participation in WPLCS, an adult representative (counselor, educator, or administrator) from that school is able to attend and participate in the concurrent educator workshop.

Educators who attend the West Point Leaders of Character Seminar will receive a professional development/continuing education credit certificate for their participation.

** Guests are able to come to the information session following the WPLCS however, the WPLCS is intended for the high-schooler with no additional guests!

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business and Management and PenFed Credit Union, we are thrilled to offer a scholarship opportunity for participating students. Scholarships of $2,500$1,500, and $1,000 will be awarded to the three students who submit the top essays following the event. This is your chance to showcase your ideas and earn recognition for your hard work! Details about the essay submission process will be shared during the closing ceremony. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to make your mark and take a step toward your future!
